Is a Spiritual Divorce possible? |
| Published: 8 hours ago [ submited by Dakini Bliss ] |
 |
It’s never easy when a significant relationship ends.
Your world turns upside down, triggering painful, unsettling feelings.
A divorce or breakup hurts because it represents a loss, not just of the relationship, but also of shared dreams and commitments.
Romantic relationships begin on high, happy, hopeful notes for the future.
When these relationships fail, we experience deep disappointment, stress and grief.
|
 |
A breakup or divorce launches us into uncharted territory.
Everything is disrupted…your routine, responsibilities, home, relationships with extended family and friends, and even your identity.
A breakup brings up fear and uncertainty about the future.
What will life be like without your partner?
Will you find someone else?
Will you end up alone?
Such unknowns can seem worse than the unhappy relationship itself.
|
Fortunately, you can empower yourself and successfully navigate this painful time.
Rather than dragging the past into your next relationship, imagine stepping into the future with a healed, open heart ready to embrace pure possibility. In the midst of the sadness and stress of a divorce or breakup, a fantastic, fulfilling future can seem totally out of reach but you can turn your pain and loss into an opportunity to grow into a stronger, wiser person
 |
By applying the Spiritual Laws of Divorce you embark on the journey to heal your heart and find the gifts inside your most painful transitions.
The support and guidance of a Dakini Bliss Coach will support you in rising above the gravitational pull of the past and experience a profound shift in how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world, empowering you to access your inner wisdom. Continuously holding you in the highest vision of yourself, Dakini will guide you to:

1. The Law of Acceptance
2. The Law of Surrender
3. The Law of Divine Guidance
4. The Law of Responsibility

How can Tantra help?
 |
In Tantra, we see each person we’re in relationship with as our teacher, guru or button-pusher. We realize that it’s a sacred duty to push the triggers of our loved ones so they have the best opportunity to grow. In many relationships, we find ourselves on a journey that must be done separately for the benefit of each individual. We ideally try to leave each other better off than how we found each other. |
Clearly, it’s a great principle to espouse but hard to practice while experiencing the disappointments, judgments, betrayals, and failures that often accompany a divorce or break up. We also see, by studying the seven different energy centers in the body that the emotions we carry can often get stuck in the “energy body”, resulting in residual mistrust towards the opposite sex, sexual dysfunction, and eventual health problems.
By using hands-on methods of sexual healing and awakening you can process the pain of the past so it doesn’t hold you back from your future. You can actualize the beauty of keeping the things that work and letting go of the things that don’t. You can reinvent your partnership with consciousness, aligning yourself with the highest good for both of you.
By utilizing touch, breath, visualization, arousal and sound, we explore what is being felt in the present moment to remove past blockages, while aligning our vision for a happier future:
Energy Center 1…working with challenges involving survival, money, death and unexpressed grief.
Energy Center 2…working with challenges involving sexuality, fear, guilt, shame, pleasure and all matters regarding the opposite sex.
Energy Center 3…working with challenges involving power, digestion, embarrassment, humiliation, manipulation and confidence.
Energy Center 4 ~ working with challenges involving a broken heart. Gently opening where we have closed. Courageously opening each room of the “heart’s castle” and shining light into the darkness.
Energy Center 5~ working with challenges involving claiming and speaking our truth. Beginning the process of owning our erotic innocence, and finding our emotional voice through sound vibration.
Energy Center 6~ working with challenges involving the balancing of the mind by harnessing the brain’s left and right hemispheres. The perfect opportunity to discover why meditation has been scientifically proven to cure stress.
Energy Center 7~ working with challenges involving Spirituality and your connection to God, however that fits YOUR belief system.
It is is highly recommend that you work with a Certified Tantra Educator such as Dakini Bliss to maximize the full closure and personal growth that a spiritual separation has to offer. Each individual Tantra session is customized. Choose from various session packages, alone or with your partner. Contact me now to inquire further.

Tantric Lifestyle…Living within your Means…Tips from the Wealthy Barber |
| Published: 9 hours ago [ submited by Dakini Bliss ] |
 |
How does Tantra Psychology correlate with everday life?
Tantra is all about living joyfully in the moment.
A sloppy financial outlook will sabotage a happy Tantric lifestyle.
Are you controlled by anxiety or fear when it comes to finances?
Are you ready to go to the next level but don’t know how to get there?
|
|
Learn some proven steps you can take to create financial health and wealth. Walk away with a personal action plan to achieve your financial dreams. Whether you have $10 or $100K David Chilton can help take you to the next level of financial abundance.

|
| As well as exploring the psychological realms of money, The Wealthy Barber Returns forges ahead with its popular maxim of saving at least 10-15% your earnings. It also places new prominence on the culture of spending, the harsh realities of chasing the stock market and the role of banks in our volatile economy. “It’s tough to save because it’s tough not to spend. When I wrote this book I gave thought to how to position it in a way to change behaviour … I thought if I could introduce enough stories and humour and everything else, I might get people to look at it,” he says. The 224-page financial guide is delivered from Chilton, rather than from Roy the Barber, his fictional proxy. |
Tips from The Wealthy Barber Returns
Here are 10 reflections on personal financial well being from The Wealthy Barber Returns.
The book by Ontario author David Chilton is a sequel to his original best seller written over 20 years ago.
1. A relatively small cutback in your spending rate can dramatically increase your saving rate.
2. One reason it’s difficult to save is that nobody except you really wants you to.
3. People who live within their means tend to be happier for obvious reasons, but also because they are not consumed with consumption.
4. We judge people not by their net worth, but the amount of their material possessions.
5. Free flights earned through excessive loyalty credit card use are akin to the ‘free’ hotel rooms that Las Vegas offers to heavy gamblers.
6. Saying ‘I can’t afford it’ is no admission of failure.
7. When using your credit line, remember it’s not your money…it belongs to the bank.
8. Saving should come first and borrowing later. Many Canadians have it the other way round.
9. Good savers have areas of indulgence, but know that high spending in one area requires discipline in others.
10. If your financial plan hinges on predicting the future, you’re in trouble. Instead, stick to a balanced, diversified portfolio and focus on the long term.
Excerpt from the The Wealthy Barber Returns: Significantly Older and Marginally Wiser, Dave Chilton Offers His Unique Perspectives on the World of Money.
“One of the finest pieces ever written on the saving/spending challenge was an essay penned in 1772 by the witty, wise French philosopher Denis Diderot, entitled Regrets on Parting With My Old Dressing Gown: Or, A Warning to Those With More Taste Than Money.
In it, Diderot eloquently chronicles how his beautiful, new, scarlet dressing gown came to wreak havoc on both his mood and his finances. Soon after receiving the gown, it became apparent that his surroundings, though formerly pleasing to him, were not in keeping with the gown’s elegance. He felt compelled to replace his tapestry, his art works, his bookshelves and chairs and finally even the beloved table that had served as his desk. Eventually, a poorer Diderot sat uncomfortably in his stylish, now formal study. “I was absolute master of my old dressing gown but I have become a slave to my new one,” he lamented.
All of us have some Diderot in us. Therefore, the reference “group” you often need to be most wary of is not your affluent friends, or even your wealthier work colleagues; it’s you, yourself.
Few things influence your spending decisions of today more than your spending decisions of yesterday.
Spending begets spending.
The cookbook author and entrepreneur Greta Podleski provides us with a perfect example. Not surprisingly, it involves clothing. Several years ago, “GP” informed me that she had just bought a stunning dress at a “ridiculously” low price. “I couldn’t afford not to buy it!” was her interesting assessment.
If the story stopped there, it wouldn’t have been a big deal. But it didn’t. Defying all mathematical odds, none of Greta’s 90-plus pairs of shoes was a match to her version of Diderot’s gown. One hundred and forty dollars later, that problem was solved. However, a new one had taken its place. Amazingly, not one of Greta’s purses from her vast collection was “a suitable partner” to the new shoes. The colours clashed or — “wouldn’t you know it” — the bronze clasp didn’t perfectly complement the copper hue of the newly purchased footwear.
“I need a new purse or the rest of the money I’ve spent will be wasted,” Greta reasoned.
“You can’t afford not to buy a purse,” I replied.
“Exactly,” she agreed, apparently immune to sarcasm.
Two tubes of lipstick and a pair of earrings later, The Curious Case of the Inexpensive Dress That Wasn’t came to a close.
I probably shouldn’t throw stones here. Last year, I bought two new fairway woods, ironically, to hit from the rough. Suddenly, with my new woods beaming from my bag, my irons looked old and tired to me as I’m sure I did to them. Once they had been replaced, it was only fitting to add a fantastic high-tech driver and a properly-weighted-for-my-stroke putter. Carrying all this new equipment quickly made my previously attractive golf bag appear ratty, tatty and not so natty. So I replaced it too, followed a few days later by the purchase of a deluxe pair of golf shoes that seemed to boast almost superhuman powers. Eighteen hundred dollars poorer, I had the look of a professional.
My swing, though, showed great resistance, warded off the ghost of Diderot and refused to join the rush to “new and improved.” It remained a unique cross between those of Jim Furyk and Lizzie Borden. I hate golf.
Nowhere does the “Diderot effect” do more financial harm than in the area of home renovations. In fact, I’m convinced that during the renovation process, many people go temporarily insane – well, for most it’s temporary. How else can their spending decisions be explained? First, most set their initial budgets from slightly to wildly beyond what their finances and common sense would dictate. Then, invariably, the projects come in over budget because, well, that’s what projects do. “If we’re going to re-do the bathroom floor, we might as well put in radiant heat while the tile is pulled up.” Finally, and most troublingly, once the bathroom has become palatial, the kitchen pales by comparison. “Our cupboards are so 90’s.” Diderot is once again resurrected and the “cycle of renovation” rolls on.
The four most expensive words in the English language? “While we’re at it …” And the four most expensive letters? HGTV.
I’m not saying “Never renovate.” Heck, a lot of my close friends and family members are in the industry and I made significant improvements to my own home last year. I love Mike Holmes. But, for crying out loud, get a hold of yourself or, as I wish someone would have advised me as I Diderot’ed my way down the fairway: get a grip! The upgrades, including the future changes that the current reno will inevitably lead to, have to be completed within the context of affordability.
Over half of the people I know who are in trouble with their lines of credit arrived there via excessive home-renovation expenses. I really don’t have a problem with indulgences like heated marble floors — I wish I had them. However, when people are purchasing that type of extreme-pampering item, especially with borrowed money, while not fully funding their RRSPs or saving for their children’s educations, yeah, that’s an issue. And in this particular case, there’s no excuse: the low-cost, old-style technology still works wonderfully — buy slippers!
Remember Diderot. Above all, remember the alternative title of his insightful piece: A Warning to Those Who Have More Taste Than Money.”

Truth in Tantric Relationships |
| Published: 14 hours ago [ submited by Dakini Bliss ] |
 |
Transform your life by telling the truth! Haven’t we been taught that it’s far better to lie than hurt someone’s feelings? That there are some things you simply NEVER tell another? We’re not supposed to share that we’ve had an extramarital affair, especially to our spouse. God forbid we’re honest with each other about sex. |
 |
Have we become so adept at lying that we’ve forgotten that we’re LYING? Have we forgotten how to tell the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth? Can any intimate relationship be expected to survive in a cesspool of lies? |
Try this little exercise. Go around your workplace saying, “OMG, you have a huge behind!” to your co-workers, regardless of their physical size. No one escapes your experiment.
What would their the reactions be? Do you think most would be upset? Some would walk away; some would giggle. Some women would break down; some would smile awkwardly. Some men would punch you out; some would stare at you like you’re totally insane. One statement…thousands of reactions.
The size of their derrière would not even be the deciding factor in how they responded. Some think their butt is huge, even though it’s not. In Brazil, large bottoms are considered very attractive. Some people adore their big butts!
Each individual you met made a decision about how they would respond, based upon many factors which had NOTHING to do with you.
If we understood everyone is responsible for their own emotions, we’d feel freer to say what we think and feel. Mostly, it’s our own lack of trust in ourselves to deal with other’s reactions that blocks our honesty. “How would I feel if this person reacts badly” we ask. “I might feel guilty, so I’ll tell a little lie.”
Yes, sometimes people will get angry in reaction to our honesty. But the alternative of living lives filled with lies is not much of an alternative. We end up walking around monitoring our every word, and trying to predict how others might respond. It’s a slow, ugly process of communication.
 |
| Honesty about everything opens doors to intimacy, love and dynamic relationships. Without it, we’re mere actors reading scripted lines. It’s as if we’re all walking around holding rotten meat in our hands, making deals with each other. “Just pretend you don’t see my rotten meat, and I won’t see yours.” It’s a scam we’re pulling over our eyes. |
Imagine being authentic and truthful with each other. Imagine what the world would be like if you could actually believe what others tell you. It might feel rocky at times, but it would change the world for the better.

* Revue de shoesing #8 * |
| Published: 23 hours ago [ submited by ] |

New look

The Many Faces of Tantra |
| Published: 1 day ago [ submited by Dakini Bliss ] |
 |
Tantra manipulates the materials, energies, and limited awareness associated with the human body, to help us realize the unlimited consciousness, permeating all space, time and matter. |
 |
There are many methods in Tantra. Some involve dramatic actions using ritual objects to lead the mind to a particular feeling or awareness (Kriya Tantra). Other tantric methods use no external objects but rely heavily on physical technique to move energy and awareness in the body; i.e., Tantric hatha yoga and sexual rituals called Maithuna |
 |
| These same physical methods are shared in some varieties of Tantric Maithuna (love ritual or union), with the added ingredient of sexual, emotional, and spiritual arousal. |
 |
| In Tantric Laya Yoga, aka kundalini Yoga, the Dakini uses the resonant frequencies of the various parts of her energetic o rphysical anatomy to tune into new wave lengths of consciousness, via auditory tools (mantra), visual tools (yantra), and anthropomorphized principles (devata) to amplify and fine tune her own awareness and energy. |
Meanwhile, Tantric Hatha Yoga uses physical techniques such as postures, breath awareness, internal breath pressure, spinal manipulation, hand and body gestures, internal muscle contractions and pressure on external pressure points. Another method makes use of intentional, patterned movement of the consciousness through the body to harness and control the jumpy cognitive mind. in Tantric Kriya Yoga, the practitioner moves her awareness along specific meridian pathways (nadis) in order to achieve greater calmness of mind, along with and internal control of prana (chi or vital breath energy). Control of internal energy and placement of awareness allows the Dakini to modify her consciousness and emotional state at will, as well as still the mind to achieve meditative samadhi (absorption), and simply abide in naked awareness…Realization. Hindu Kriya Yoga is similar in practice and purpose to the Taoist system of internal Qigong called Nei Gung. Tantric Laya Yoga principles can be used individually, in a loving couple, or in a practice group or sangha. In internal martial arts like kalaripayattu, tai chi, hsing-yi, baguazhang, hoshinjutaijutsu, and pencak silat, the external (physical) training and internal (breath, energy and mind) training, mirror each other, producing awareness of aspects of the mind, energy, and body that are normally overlooked. In the end, the many schools within Tantric practice all intersect and build upon each other, Moreover, they all rely on experiences provided by the practice itself, not on formal education, to deliver increased awareness of the nature of humanity and consciousness. If you truly practice and understand the principles and methods of any complete esoteric system, in any culture, when you really investigate any other system, you will see how things fit together into the broader spectrum of tantric practice. If you wish to cut away all attachments, to liberate your mind from limitation, just as many cultural prejudices exist in the esoteric arts as in any other field. The universal personality prefers to leap over these prejudices, leaving behind even the ideas that enabled the practitioner to travel inwards towards freedom. Bear in mind that Wonderfully esoteric tools exist in all of the world’s major spiritual traditions. Because of early human migrations and the later cultural exchange along the silk road, each of those traditions has absorbed practices from every other. Nothing is truly ethnically, culturally, or religiously separate. Indeed, archeological findings indicate that everything culturally distinct will ultimately mingle with, reflect everything else, or die off entirely. In Tantra, the root or base of all these memes (ideas, thought forms, or concepts), permutations, traditions, and individual splinters of consciousness is the same primordial consciousness behind and within everything, beyond name and concept. Esoteric traditions are merely systematic methods to experientially realize and live in full awareness of that primordial consciousness! Whether you begin yogic, sexual, meditative, scientific, or shamanic practice, take each principle or method you learn, practice it, experiment and explore it, and fit its experiences into the larger whole.

Albert Sangiamo
Next Monday February 27, a number of former MICA students, which includes Jeff Koons and Philadelphia’s Frank Hyder, will be assembled at MICA in Baltimore to celebrate the retirement of Albert Sangiamo, who was their first mentor.
The list of artists attending is very impressive; Sangiamo was chair of drawing at MICA for more than 40 years. He was a student of Joseph Albers and was hired to help make the Institute a first class art school.
Jeff Koons will be making a presentation at noon, followed by a luncheon.

Fresh Flowers and Furry Friends
I would have picked somewhat of a better title for the show, but watercolors by Barbara Bell, collages by Merry Lymn, digital work based on photographs of flowers by the very talented Bert GF Shankman, fused glass portraits of dogs by Shirley Hendel and ceramics featuring cats by Leigh Partington all make up the next show at Potomac’s Gallery Har Shalom (located at Congregation Har Shalom, 11510 Falls Road, Potomac, MD) and because we’re neighbors, I really want to make sure that this gallery gets some attention! And here’s an opening that starts at 11AM! Washington City Paper, Gazette, Potomac News… now you can find out if your art writers ever get up before noon!
Opening Reception: Sunday, March 4, 2012, 11am – 1 pm Exhibit dates: Friday, March 2 – Monday, April 30, 2012 Call for hours and directions: 301-299-7087
Barbara F. Bell uses her own photographs as a major resource for her watercolor paintings. She focuses in this exhibit on regeneration and renewal in the natural world, her palette reflecting the early light and gentle colors of May along the riverbanks, and in the forests and fields of England and America. Barbara began her formal training in art while on academic leave from university teaching. She worked in studio arts at Montgomery College (Rockville) in the 1980s. Retirement from teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools twenty years later afforded her the time to resume her artwork. See www.bellslessons.com for more information.
Merry Lymn began taking formal collage classes in October 2008. In 2009, she was juried into her first art show, and since then she has been juried into several others. She divides her work into five subject areas–landscape, still life, people, Judaica, and wildcard. For this show, the pieces are exclusively flowers for which she created special Jewish flowers including a Shin Flower, a Vase with Shin Flowers, a Shofar Flower, and a Lily from the Song of Songs. See www.artlymn.com for more images.
Bert GF Shankman presents his Flemish Series of flowers in this show. He first saw this technique of painting when he minored in Art History for his AB at Case Western Reserve University. He practiced this style, called Chiaroscuro, when he studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. These pictures use light and dark to model the shapes and forms of the flowers and vases. They are done digitally starting out with photographs of flowers which he grows in his garden. Though decidedly different, they give a feeling of 16th century Flemish art. Shirley Hendel was an award-winning decorative painter for many years. Several years ago she was introduced to fused glass and became fascinated with the possibilities for expression that glass materials and techniques offer. She now works exclusively in that medium while trying to maintain the perspective that decorative painting provides. She specializes in pet portraits, especially dogs, but also other creatures both real and whimsical. Her fused glass portraits (you could almost call them caricatures) are not based on actual dogs and cats as much as they are reminiscent of the lovable mutts and house cats that we grew up with or may still be in our lives. Just like these mixed-breed pets, these portraits come in assorted shapes and colors; no two exactly the same.
Leigh Partington has been doing ceramic art for over 30 years. Her work has evolved to include a combination of whimsical wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces that emphasize her love of and appreciation for animals, birds and nature in general. As a feline fancier – cats have always been a part of her life, she portrays them as functional pieces and decorative objects. She combines different clays for a marbled effect in some of her pieces. All pieces are bisque-fired. Then she adds detailed illustrations painted on with Speedball underglazes and dips the pieces in a transparent glaze. She uses a combination of overglazes sponged on the exterior for mottled color effects. The pieces, including ceramic pitchers, garlic keepers, egg separators, ocarinas, and platters, are then oxidation fired in an electric kiln.
